Introducing yourself properly is one of the keys to making a good first impression. In this "How To" guide, we look at a number of different ways of introducing yourself.
James Bond: I admire your courage, Miss . . . ?
Sylvia Trench: Trench. Sylvia Trench. I admire your luck, Mr . . . ?
James Bond: Bond. James Bond.

James Bond uses the shortest form of short introduction techniques. This works well if your reputation precedes you. However, on occasion he does alter it slightly:-
Jack Wade: Jack Wade, CIA.
James Bond: James Bond, stiff-arse Brit.
Goldeneye

This style is obviously not a formal introduction, but brings us to the brief introduction that simply states what you do for a living:-
Dick Spanner: The name's Spanner. Dick Spanner. Private Investigator.
Dick Spanner P.I.
This round-robin introduction shows how you can use this brief introduction technique with either a job, department or qualification:-
Ira Kane: Ira Kane, head of the science department, Glen Canyon Community College.
Harry Block: Harry Block, United States Geological Survey.
Wayne Grey: Wayne Grey. I took some chemistry in high school.
